Your business needs to consider cybersecurity one of its top priorities, and this sentiment needs to extend to your employees as well. If you take too lax of an approach, it could very well result in your employees failing to take appropriate action when it matters most. Let’s go over what it means to have proper cybersecurity training practices and who usually has access to it.
The National Cybersecurity Alliance and Cybsafe in their Annual Cybersecurity Attitudes and Behaviors Report 2022, titled Oh, Behave in an homage to Austin Powers, shows that many people do not have access to cybersecurity training. In fact, 62% of people don’t have this access. Only a meager 30% of respondents who had access to the training actually used it.
It’s interesting to note that cybersecurity is only growing more important as threats grow more potent. Most individuals who receive security training are students and those who are employed, and the deficit in training is particularly pronounced in retired individuals. Most training that does occur takes place in a single course (59%), and only 29% receive it on a continuous basis.
While we’re at it, let’s discuss some of the other statistics related to this report, like the impacts that proper training had on user behaviors:
Training makes it easier for anyone to get the benefits of cybersecurity, but it’s not something that is easily acquired. For your business, at least, it’s made simple by working with us at KB Technologies. We’ll work with you to ensure that your security training is on par with the best out there.
